Season 1

Gloves Red and JATV Raw have joined forces to create a new podcast that will discuss, debate and explore all aspects of Scottish Boxing. Rather than focus on solely Amateur/Olympic-Style Boxing, or only Professional Boxing, we have decided to share our knowledge, experience and wisdom to put out a fresh, regular podcast to promote Boxing in Scotland.

In this episode; we discuss the recent success of Undisputed World Champion, Josh ‘The Tartan Tornado’ Taylor, his win over Jose Ramirez, Referee Kenny Baylis and who we think he could be fighting next.

Also up for discussion are; Nick Campbell and Martin Harkin, Fight Zone’s plans and what that means for Scottish Boxing and what could happen with Amateur boxing when it relaunches this Autumn.

In this episode; we are delighted to be joined by Boxing Scotland’s Performance Director & National Coach, Craig McEvoy and their new coach, Three-weight World Champion, Ricky Burns, at the National High Performance Centre in Glasgow.

It has been a year of ups and downs for everyone, but with Professional and Amateur boxing bouncing back in Scotland, there are lots to talk about.

Ricky talks about what made him get in touch with Craig to discuss coaching, Craig tells us about the plan for backing our boxing athletes all the way to the olympics and beyond, our Craig (Gloves Red) is eager for a scoop on a possible Ricky Burns ‘Good-bye’ fight and Jamie is just happy to be involved.

The Scottish Boxing Podcast is back with a new series.

Two time Scottish Champion, Western Districts Champion, GB Bronze Medalist and Duries Boxing Club’s Lucas Ewan speaks to Jamie about his recent Championship Win, Moving Gyms, How he juggles his school, personal and boxing life and his hopes for the rest of the year.

WARNING: This podcast discusses, in detail, mental health issues that some people may find upsetting. Subject matters include discussing Death, Suicidal thoughts, Alcohol & Drug dependency and low mental health episodes.

Boxing saves lives. There is no doubt about it. Young people are given opportunities, coaches find purpose, communities are transformed by Boxing gyms all around the world. Everyone has their own journey with boxing.

JATV Live’s Jamie O’Neill has a full and in-depth chat with Antonine Boxing Club’s Steven D’Ambrosio about how boxing has impacted both their lives and often helped them to overcome everything from addiction to suicidal thoughts.
